Goos-Hänchen shift at Brillouin light scattering by a magnetostatic wave in the Damon-Eshbach configuration [Invited]

چکیده
The lateral shift of an optical beam undergoing Brillouin light scattering by a spin wave propagating along the interface between magnetic and dielectric media (Damon-Eshbach configuration) in total internal reflection geometry is studied theoretically. Linear quadratic magneto-optic terms polarization are taken into account. It shown that depends on ( s - or p -) state scattered electromagnetic as well frequency wave.

Observation of the Goos-Hänchen shift with neutrons.
The Goos-Hänchen effect is a spatial shift along an interface resulting from an interference effect that occurs for total internal reflection. This phenomenon was suggested by Sir Isaac Newton, but it was not until 1947 that the effect was experimentally observed by Goos and Hänchen. We provide the first direct, absolute, experimental determination of the Goos-Hänchen shift for a particle exper...
متن کاملGoos-Hänchen shift for a rough metallic mirror.
We investigate experimentally the dependence of the Goos-Hänchen shift on the surface properties of an air-metal interface. The shift depends on the microscopic roughness of the metal surface but it is insensitive to the large-scale variations associated with surface non-flatness. Both an effective medium model of roughness and the Rayleigh-Rice theory of scattering are used to interpret the ob...
متن کاملGoos-Hänchen shift of partially coherent light fields in epsilon-near-zero metamaterials
The Goos-Hänchen (GH) shifts in the reflected light are investigated both for p and s polarized partial coherent light beams incident on epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) metamaterials. In contrary to the coherent counterparts, the magnitude of GH shift becomes non-zero for p polarized partial coherent light beam; while GH shift can be relatively large with a small degree of spatial coherence for s polar...
متن کاملStimulated Brillouin scattering slow light in optical fibers [Invited]
Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) has become a favorable underlying mechanism in many demonstrations of all-optical variable delay in standard fibers, often referred to as slow and fast light. Over 100 journal papers and numerous conference sessions have been dedicated to SBS slow light since 2005. In this paper, recent research in this area is reviewed. Following a short introduction to th...
متن کاملGoos-Hänchen shifts of partially coherent light fields.
The Goos-Hänchen (GH) shift refers to a lateral displacement (from the path expected from geometrical optics) along an interface in totally internal reflection. This phenomenon results from a coherence effect. In order to bring to light the role of coherence, the reflection of partially coherent light fields was investigated within the framework of the theory of coherence. A formal expression f...
